When the shed arrived the lock wasn’t aligned and didn’t work, a new panel was sent. Within the first year the shed was saturated and leaking in a number of places, Lots of the contents were ruined, and I had to move my battery lawnmower elsewhere, the window panels had split away from the main frame and the wood had split badly in several places. This was a £600 sun pent shed, built and treated as per the instructions. I asked ElbeC to arrange repair or refund, as it came with a 10 year guarantee and was advertised as well sealed and weatherproof, they refused, and said we are not advising the shed is waterproof. They offered £20 to buy wood filler for the splits. I now at considerable expense am Having to replace the whole roof, and make repairs to the splitting wood and windows which are never going to be watertight. The shed is not fit for purpose and the response from elbec is very poor. I do not recommend this company.Update: just to confirm that Trustpilot have contacted us about this review and we have forwarded them a copy of our order confirmation. This is a genuine review from a dissatisfied customer.

I purchased a Shire Overlap Apex Bike Store back in March and because of Covid i had to wait for delivery in six weeks. When the product arrived by a courier who looks more like a Rag and bone man they direct courier from a professional company. However i was excited to press on with the shed as i was in dire need of it too store the bikes and get them out of the open. Upon inspection of the panels, Doors, Roof and fittings I was utterly disguised with the standard of workmanship and the fact that they had got through quality control. If there is any quality control? I found over 12 fault in all, Nails through wood and exposed the other side. Panels with sap coming out. Holes in wood and unfinished wood doors. I had no choice but to construct the shed none the less as i has waited 6 weeks. Once i contacted the customer service via email as they would not answer the phone. They informed me that i should just return the faulty parts. I explained that this was not now possible as i had constructed the bike store and they i would have to send the entire thing back. Why should put aside another day to build it and then another day to take it down to send back. Only to wait for another one to be sent? Overall i am completely unimpressed with the product and the customer services. I would never buy another product from them.

Delivery is not always as it seems

I rang Elbec to check delivery date before I ordered a shire summer house and was advised that the date would be as stated on website. As the summer house was to be delivered direct from manufacturer i rang checked on their website only to discover it was out of stock when i rang shire (the manufacturer) i was advised that the earliest delivery would be 120 days???Although there was a alternative smaller building available with a 50 day delay.

Product received in unacceptable condition.

The product was delivered with paint seeping from the box. On opening the box a considerable amount of paint was inside the box and the tin lid was partially off.

Summerhouse

I’m very worried has I thought I would have had updates on the progress of my order I’ve heard nothing since I ordered on 1st of March Ordering was very straightforward though just hope my summerhouse lives up to my dreams My hubby is very worried ?

Delivery date should have been…

Delivery date should have been mentioned when order was placed ,this wasnt at the time of payimen I think a little off putting ,still waiting for a date.

I get a request to review a product…

I get a request to review a product which I have not received. Neither have I received an indication of when the product will be provided. Customer services have an automatic reply saying don't contact us - refer to the on-line brochure. The on-line brochure now says 30 weeks although I recall six weeks at time of ordering. Unfortunately I do not have a record. Suggest you don't ask customers to review until you know they have received the product!

Substandard product

Substandard product, substandard installation and poor customer service! We paid almost £1000 for installation knowing that if something wasn’t right, it would be sorted out by elbec and shire (the installers)! Not the case! Gaps appeared almost immediately between the logs (big gaps, we could see daylight!) and it took months for them to come and look at it. When they eventually turned up, they admitted it wasn’t installed correctly and had to remove done logs in order for the gaps to close up. Due to the pressure of not being fitted together correctly, some logs split and the door and windows are a struggle to open and close. The double glazed window we paid extra for may as well be decorational. Months and months later, countless emails and requests for more and more evidence (despite their own installation team stating it was installed badly and caused further problems) Elbec have said its not their problem! In effect, taken our hard earned cash and ran! Despicable!

Very happy overall

Delivery was quick. Delivery personnel were knowledgable and friendly. The price was competitive. The finished product (now that I have assembled it) is solid, attractive and fit for purpose. I docked one star because I had to trim a door leaf (quite a significant amount) to fit an undersized and skew pre-formed opening.All in all, at this price point, I am a happy customer.
